I don't think that it could be a security issue. That sheet metal does only hold the engine, nothing other. I think it was simply too thin, or wrong handled.

With exactly 3l the oil level is about 1cm above maximum. If more than 3 litres are filled in, they are blown out through the crankcase ventilation tube (therefore you need the new valve of course...)

The rims have to be drilled special for the LC8 hubs, original LC8 spokes fit.

No, but got new gaskets at 4000km, then mounted neoprene covers and had no more problems with the forks. Now I've 42500km on my LC8.

You should get a new inner tube for your fork, if it wasn't...

That's incredible. I've had several MT21 front on my LC8, even in summer they last at least 3000km with mixed on/offroad use and speeds up to 180km/h. On cold months about 4500km.
