NWAT Weekend

My brother and I will be doing some of the NWAT this weekend. Day trips basically since we have a cabin on Boundry lake right next to the Pipeline. We'll be on our Dr650's if you see us.

How many of you guys with scramblers have the Zard exhaust that goes under the frame like the hammarhead scrambler? How loud is it and is it bareable on long trips?

You would think Yamaha would just use there 700cc...

You would think Yamaha would just use there 700cc single out of there quads and put in a bike, not much R&D there, they could use the FZ8 platform for it or a cafe look, although water cooled lumps...

If the rear wheel of the DR350 has a cush drive hub, than yes it will fit your 650, all you have to do is flip the brake disk of the 650 and use all the 650 spacers, I'm not sure about the front...

I would say the big difference is Maintenance. Do you do your own or take it to the dealer? That would be a deciding factor. shaft versus chain, lock nut and screw type valves vs desmo valves,...

The DR650 is only about fifty pounds heavier than the DRZ400. If you switch the exhaust you can shed another 20-25lbs from the bike as well, but I'm biased.

I have a 5th gen VFR with 67k on it, bought it with 57k, all it has needed is chain, sprockets and brake pads. Great bike for solo touring, just wish I had the beetle bags to go with it!
