So when the chain slider came off, it got sucked up into and around the sprocket which ate up any and all available chain slack. There was not enough slack, even with the chain adjusters loosened...

Somehow, the son-of-a-bugger came off, got caught in the sprocket, froze everything up, and I slid a good 60 or so feet. Damn lucky I had some straight track ahead of me...
