Shivers have 300mm travel, the BMW ones have 270mm ... its just over an inch difference.

You can either stick them an inch thru the triples, or if you have an adjustable height or longer travel...

I have done big tours on the bike with the OEM forks (just resprung), with 48mm WPs and with 50mm marzocchis ... but I had a few rides on Terry's bike which has the simpler 45mm marzocchi shiver...

A few people are using a steering stabiliser and swear by them. Personally I have never felt the need for it on the XC, as I find it very stable up...
