I'm not aware of any problems like that. Mine has been great. MY KLR650 burned 1l of oil every 1000k from new And YZF600 blew the gearbox at 6000k

the lower final drive gearing isn't for tight stuff its for the higher gear's. in standard form 6th is pretty much unusable I could pull 150 in 5th then when i went to 6th speed would drop to 140....
