Check the 350 thread for more info on adjusting it but yes, it definitely helps richen it up a bit. My '13 starts noticeably easier and the bottom end seems better.

Google Maps is definitely not official - I think they just parse imagery so a lot of driveways end up as "roads." I'd say look at the MVUM which is going to give you official legal status.
