I don't mean the weight being transferred to the pegs is the cause but more the fact that the racks stiffen the subframe to the footpeg mounts so all stress...

That's strange the ones I fitted didn't interfear with seat that bad, maybe the safari tank that's in the bike keeps the seat higher.
