Not sure about the rest of the opinions here, but I can vouch from experience. I owned the very same bike for approx 10K miles. Cost of ownership will boil down to oil, filter, tires & insurance....

The 599 headlight is bigger & has 2 H11 bulbs; one for high beam & one for low beam. Its a better looking & performing headlight than that of the 919.

The 919 is a single H4 bulb headlight.

Renthal Ultra Low & Medium work fine with stock cables & controls. With the Renthal High you might need little longer brake lines but everything else should work. Not completely sure on that.

Yes, that 5W will make cold starts a lot easier. When I owned an Aprilia Futura, it would not start in cooler weather on the factory spec 15W oil. Switched to Rotella 5w-40 & started no issues.

Try Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 oil till you can get it sorted. It is now JASO-MA certified & very well regarded in a lot of motorcycle brands & models. I use it on my 919 & it starts up in 25F weather...

May be. My 06 GSXR 1000 which made a LOT more power than the 919 would net 42-43 mpg consistently on the same boring commute, regardless of temperature. Of course that bike was magical in every sense...
