My Solution

I use a supermini Cortech tank bag. It is light and small so as not to interfere with riding or bar positions and to keep the center of mass lower.

Having said that, my tank bag has my wallet...

Yup, off road riding in my opinion requires the TKCs for true security and reducing the probability of going down. 90% pavement, TKC is not your tire unless that 10% is life threatening or impassable...
