I see that the nose piece has a little vinyl too. I did mine just after I bought it along with the fork leg covers and the muffler shield....

Like Despistao I used vinyl too. I used number plate vinyl that is used on moto-X and enduro bikes. Easy to pick up at any motor bike shop. Key point is to make sure the base plate is very clean...

I have ridden the 1190r with the stock shield and the same bike with the stock shield from the Street version 1190. The street version was able to adjust up & down as well as tilt forward and aft....

Reach down and put the choke on when you are at 3/4 throttle, if it gets better you are too lean and just the opposite if it gets worse. Also make sure the main jet has not fallen out or is missing....
