I have Dirt Bagz on my XC too.
I took out the plastic liner in the back and made a cut out for the gas cap.
Now it is easy to just push the fabric over to get to the gas cap.

No picture here, but the forward bottom strap is close to the exhaust pipe.
It melted once, I wrapped it in exhaust wrap and it is holding up well.

Next time you change the oil , after draining the oil take the clutch cover off.
On the inside of the cover there is a hole were the clutch release pin sits in.

Could be old oil and time for an oil change or if you have more then 23-25k miles you might need a new clutch cover and release mechanism.
