The regulator/rectifier connects to the two wires coming up from the stator in place of the current AC regulator, the other 2 wires connecting up to the AC regulator (going into the harness) connect...

It's about 61 miles out, the road is usually fairly smooth, 30mph isn't hard for 90% of it, often faster, I'd est 2 to 3 hrs each way depending on how often you stop.

I had a pd chain on an xr400, it lasted 150 mi, same thing, side plates splitting at the pins. Luckily I noticed it after the ride.

I've stayed at the little 2 story motel in the center of town a few times. The bar, food and gas are within stumbling distance. Pretty basic but I'd go back if I was headed up there.
