It's a terrible design. Try Sugru instead of JB weld. I broke my initial one in less than a week and tried to fix it with JB weld. I used Sugru on my second one and it's lasted 3 years.

I put one on my wife's Volvo. After a few weeks she noticed and peeled it off, but for some reason just tossed it in the back of the car after peeling it off. So I put it back!
