Yes, it is. :D Keep riding, it'll take awhile to get used to. It will never be the same as the smaller bike but it will seem much easier than it does now.

As far as belts lasting. I put one on my 89 FLHS when I had the factory remaned engine installed. I figured I'd splurge, new pullies & belt at 130 K miles. YMMV

You can try running an extra ground wire from the batt down to the starter. It helps sometimes. The grounding to the subframe isn't very good, clean it & check for tightness often.

The belt on my 89 FLHS had approx 130K on it when I broke down & replaced it. My 2000 Road King had over 50K when I sold it, still on original belt. I guess they don't have enough suds to break them....
