Easy, the clutch plates stick together over time. My dads 79 IT400 sat for 10yrs before I started riding it, when I was 11... Had to roll start it with my fat step bro to get em freed up and working....

I run the 14/48 on mine and love it! It will run all day at 70 no problem. Even kicked it up to 85 just to see and seemed fine for passsing. But I do have a 130 d606 rear which is taller..

Mine move a lot no matter how hard you tighten them. They are heavy too. Expensive, and only give slightly less vibration than MS mirrors. So I would look for something else.

Gearing is too tall. I have same mods with 14/48 gearing and i get 45mpg doing 60-65 to work. And I average 47 when in the hills.
