Thanks for replys, the thread is damaged and its to narrow to fit a bigger size stud . I did Loctite another helicoil insert in but it wasn't the stud lock stuff. Is welding up the hole and re drill...

Plenty Hwy is not a bad run but you will need to take extra fuel I think its about 450 to 500 km Boulia to Jervois Station (that was the only place to get fuel when I was there2 years ago

When you change the sprocket from 16 to 13 do you use the same length chain?

Thanks Doc and Ride Freak for your replys, dont want to risk reliability but the head light is no good for night riding will look into 35 watt lights and Leds, My bike has a battery so may be ok

I think its a great idea, I have been thinking about using a tablet for maps GPS, bike manual etc. I am sure bikes will evetually come with something like this as standard.

Hi Hutcho I have done a few trips using pannier racks and bags but i think the giant loop bags (the ones that strap on the back of the seat) might be a better set up as you can still fit a rear rack...
