Regarding noise -- another variable to manipulate is your hearing protection. On some bikes, the soft foam works best for me, on others my custom molded ones do the job just as well or better.

I ride an O7 GS. The ABS on the O7 and newer bikes no longer have servo-assist. A BMW dealer can look up your bike to see if the recall issues were all addressed. They I'd think you'd be good to go....
