If you have an early model dr350 (14mm axle) it is not worth getting a drz250 wheel as they are x2-4 the cost of a 14mm DR350...

I always run synthetic car based oil in my DR. Usually mobile 1 in 10-40. I have also run 10 or 20-50 for situations like you just mentioned. Syn 20-50 is not cheap, but you only need 2 quarts.
