Issue resolved

Despite there being no external evidence of the fusible link being melted I tested the 4 links next to the battery and 1 of them was bad. Like I said, there wasn't any melted plastic on the casing,...

Here's how I solved the jumper cable issue on the R1100RS...

When I bought my trickle charger it came with a "pigtail" that I attached to the battery permanently. It allows me to trickle charge by plugging in the charger to the permanently installed pigtail...

just filled mine this a.m....

it took 4.98 Gallons...odo showed 195 miles. My commute is 4 miles with about 6 lights...not a very fun commute. I get 40+ if I drive easy and am riding in the countryside.
