Another method is to go to the hardware shop and buy a bolt with a 17 mm head and two nuts to fit on to said bolt. That is what I did for my 1050 Tigers front end.

Perhaps you could take a look at the Moto Guzzi Stelvio, it apparently has soul but of a different sort than the MS and Tiger. There is also the Tiger Explorer as a more direct comp with the MS.
