Nailed it. When I rebuild a motor, I do this on break in of rings and new gaskets. Heat cycles on a BMW are about every 5k miles up until you have around 15k on the new stuff. That's being super anal...

Hmm, that is weird. I own both bikes and they match their corresponding wiring diagrams fine at the switches. Someone else will surely chime in here. At any rate, it's only a matter of color change....

1974's are unique. They retained the /5 switch gear, hence why I posted a 1974 specific wiring diagram. It's slightly different than the 75 and 76.
