Middle Weight BMW?

BMW had one. It met all of your criteria except for HP. It didn't sell well in the USA so they only imported for two years. I speak of the BMW R850R. A very nice bike. I am not selling mine.

There are many sites (, etc.) that will give you plenty of info.

I owned one and it was a great bike for the woods and enduros back in the
1970s. But...I think that this bit of history should remain a fond memory.
I wouldn't buy that one for sale.YMMV.

Don't forget R850R

I bought 1997 R850R new. Externally identical to R1100R except for decals. Only 10 hp less. Maybe R1100R is merely
bored out 850. Like R1100R, three height adjustable seat and and 5.5 gallon...

FWIW. My best on the 850 is 52 mpg. 850 has 70 HP, 1100 has 80 HP.

Get the R850R

I am biased. In Nov. 1996, I chose the R850R over the R1100R as a new bike purchase. The 850 has been bullet proof for me. Smoother and no surging.
Same externally as the 1100 and about the same...
