How are you going to measure the heat on the inside of the pivot? Just heat it until it's too hot to keep a finger on it and go easy. If it doesn't shift fairly easy, apply more heat until it does....

In fairness to Ohlins and Wilbers, they were two up carrying a ton of gear on really bad roads- at one point they broke the top shock mount off which can't be easy to do :eek1
