My 6 hundo starts first kick with choke guaranteed cold or warm* and runs and idles freakin' great, except when I am cruising and I have the throttle open just a slight hair it kinda slightly burps...

Wet sand paper worked great: 100 - 200 grit (to get out big scratches, if you don't have big ones skip) then get higher grit gradually to 2000 or more....
