Quieter

Ran PR3's for 10k miles on both wheels. Changed to PR4 on front and noticed considerably less road noise than on the 3's. Don't push the bike hard enough to report on handling. Work great for me!

I bought a 1250FA with bags in Nov 2011. Great bike, 16K miles on it now.

Bought a 20" Madstad adjustable windshield, Sargeant seat and now it's a great sports tourer.

I also wanted mirror...

Let's see..."OXYMORON; figure of speech in which opposite or contradictory terms are combined".

My congratulations to the first-grade teacher who taught you to read and write! Actually, I wasn't calling you out when I mentioned "oxymoron". Go back to sleep now.

Air-Cooled V-Twin; Oxymoron?

Anyone else bothered by the inelegant design of the traditional air-cooled v-twin? Unless you rotate it like Ducati the rear cylinder is "engineered" to operate at a different temp than the front...

Yes, Oak was speaking only to the rideability of the '81-'84 models. And that's why I bought it, not for collectability. I was mostly wondering if y'all think that airheads are going to generally...

Airhead Investment Value

I have an excellent low mileage 1983 R80RT I purchased, in large part, due to airhead guru "Oak's" opinion that the '81-'84 airheads have the best balance of tech upgrades (electronic ignition,...

("Right here, right now. Nothing else matters.")

Great read. Love your writing style (kind of a Hunter Thompson/ Robert Pursig combo). Expound on the insights, incorporate the photos and you've got yourself a 21st century "motorcycling and the...

I've owned a '85 K100RT and a '83 R80RT. Still have the R80; more antique, lower miles (50K) and greater current and future resale value. Both great bikes (designed to be rugged, reliable utilitarian...

Gsx1250fa

A comparable bike would be the Suzy GSX1250fa. Pretty much aimed at that market, very popular in
Europe (been in that market a few years), cheaper than the sprint, and they're offering $200...

Suzuki GSX1250FA

Just got a new 1250fa. They're down to about 9K now, plus saddlebags for just $200. Chain drive though. Bulletproof engine, may need to add bigger windshield. Valve check at 14,500 miles. 570 lbs, 5...
