Your Bandit is every bit as capable as your buddies' CB750, Concourse, and BMWs. As mentioned, just get a set of more aggressive tires if you plan on doing gravel and dirt.

I use Dupont Teflon spray chain lube. It is safe for o-rings and they sell it at Wal-mart now. It doesn't attract dirt like some of the other, stickier, greasier lubes I've used in the past.
