I'd look at the fuel filter and lines inside the tank. Has the filter been changed in the last 25000 miles? Also could be the Hall Sensor. Symptoms could be either of those.

I swapped an 1150RT front wheel and rotors onto my R1100RS and used the stamped ABS ring from the 1150 with no problems. You will probably need the speedo drive from the 1150 though.
