Headlight Protection

How prone to rock damage is the R1200RTW headlight? Replacements are $822. Cee Bailey's has a protector. Any others worth considering?

No radio = No RHS storage compartment

Pre-sold Bikes Held at the VP

Any info on the pre-sold bikes that have been held at the VPC in New Jersey? I've read of some folks with deposits getting compensation, but my dealer says no.

NHSTA Recall Notice

The NHTSA recall notice for the R1200RTW shows the affected units are those manufactured between 27 Nov. 2013 and 5 May 2014.

Any news of the May/June production bikes being delivered to customers?

I hope he is right but I don't think the chances are very good. I've been told my RT, built May 22 and due for delivery next week, is affected.

On the camhead I've found pulling in the clutch...

On the camhead I've found pulling in the clutch and slowly applying pressure to the shifter makes for smooth N to 1st shifts. Not sure if it works on the LC motor.

Take a close look at the OEM cylinder head protectors.

On my R1200R I can ride over 5 hours on a tank (5.0 gal, 50 mpg and 45 mph average) but I have never actually done it.

For me it is about flexibility to change plans, take a turn down an unknown...
