I would prefer the DR 650 everywhere on more open simple trails 'cept in deep sand. The big DR likes to stick its nose in the sand. I never weighed my 350 but it was a dirt only kicker.

Going from my not so reliable memory but my DR650 with a fair bit of gas in the IMS tank came in at around 365 or so. KLR650s are always in the 410 range. That's on our certified 1% intercomp scale....

Shoulda added that trail braking still has got to respect the "traction circle" to use what I heard at the MSF ERC class. So you can use up to 100% traction for turning or braking but not both....
