With a 34" inseam you won't be very comfortable on a Sporty, even with forward controls. You could pick up a nice used Road King or other HD Touring model with your budget.

Forgot to mention, if you can adjust your route to include RT 666, south of Warren from East Hickory to Sheffield it's highly recommended. One of the better roads in the area.
