I took an 1100 mile trip with a leaky water pump. When I got home, it had barely lost any coolant. It took maybe 2-3 ounces of fluid to top it off. That was it.

I don't think that a rider should ever be riding at a speed on the street where he is using skills meant for going fast on the track. That is a good way to get hurt, quickly. On the track, go for it....
