The rear is definitely the weakest link, I'd do it before the forks. I had CBR 600 F4i forks on mine and it was a nice improvement but not nearly as dramatic as the shock.

I bet the RC390 is better on track and street. Four stroke torque and fuel injection makes it faster on the street and a modern chassis, brakes and tires makes it no contest on track (in lap times)
