The T3 does have the linked brakes and that is a junction/union that is not really necessary but it is a good place to hold air in the brake line. PITA.

I would start with clean fuel. Drain out what you have and replace or something I do with every new to me vehicle is to run SeaFoam fuel additive through it for a tank. Add the SeaFoam next time...
