Winter - Carport - Trickle Charger???

Yes, there are a lot of battery threads, but I recently had my battery die yet again in the middle of winter. However, this winter, that battery stayed on the BMW trickle charger whenever the bike...

Just faced that very decision - GS or GSA. For me, the extra heft of the GSA just seemed a bit over the top. That said, I loved the added wind protection of the bigger tank, the bigger windshield...

Full Pull

Bought my '05 with ABS simply because that's what was on the floor. Turned out to be a good investment, as I'm pretty sure without ABS I would have hit the drunk that turned in front of me a lot...

GS Works Fine

Odd about the GS - RT debate. I thought that I'd have more luck talking passengers into riding with an RT, but as it turns out, I've met several women recently who really like the GS. I don't know...

Not a syncing problem

Belated conclusion to this thread - not a sync problem in my case. Late last year, I took the bike to Hermy's (Port Clinton, PA) for 6000 mile service. While there, I rode another R12GS - no...

Pirate's Lair

My SO is a lot more comfortable with a backrest, so I did a little research and wound up buying the Stealth Backrest from Pirate's Lair. I actually picked it because I liked the mounting setup. :D...

R12GS - Where was the oil hiding?

Started the bike this afternoon, but the yellow light and EWS block stayed on. Turned it off - no oil visible in the inspection window! The bike had been on it's center stand since I got back from...

Wouldn't it be great if one could time share motorcycles? Lot's of people do it with sailboats and with planes. That way, instead of buying a second bike, you could own month of four or five bikes...

Hey alimey4u2 - I believe in ABS

Totalled my first R12GS also, but I'm pretty sure the ABS is the reason I was able to buy another R12GS. Being able to grab all the brake when it goes terribly wrong is a luxury I've never had...

The servos are not disabled by turning off the ABS, at least on an R12GS. The non-ABS version has a more conventional hydraulic system that does not use servos.

R12GS - No more buzzing bars

The only shortcoming of my GS was fixed by changing tires. With the Anakees, I picked up a high-frequency buzz between 50-65 mph - a true buzz. Touching the handguards, mirrors of bar ends was like...
