Not a bike, but I bought a car from a copart auction last year. Paid about 500 for the car and another 150 - 200 for fees. Their fee schedule is listed on the web page.

I also have a 2000 Bandit 600, with a 3 mile commute to work + 7 home (I take the long way home). The first mile is through town also :(
I usually get about 30 - 32 mpg also

I put Manic Salamander bar end weights on my B6 & it cured the buzziness. You may want to experiment with different bars too, as I felt the stock ones had a sweep to them that was hard on the wrists....

If you left it in the "on" position, you should NOT have had fuel going...

It's an upright riding position. Lots of people put GenMar risers on them, itried them but didn't care for them. Instead went to Daytona bar, less sweep on the angle for the wrists.

The 00 Bandit 6 is a 2nd generation, so will fit ok without any more mods than trimming the air box tab (same as the B12)
The only thing I am concerned with is the weight difference bewtween the B6...
