The stock shocks just dont last that long (20K ish). The bottom line is put something on there that can be rebuilt, not replaced every 20K

I use heated grips most the time. A thin par of gloves and heated grips suit me well untilthe 40s. When temps did into the 20-30s I use heated gloves from Gerbing and the grips.

I'm 5' 8" w/ 32 " inseam and ride the 1200 ADV with not issues. Personally I love the bike for long distance travel. I can drop my feet and not touch the ground at all.... not even those damn hockey...
