I have a set of orange tanks, AFAIK the ONLY way to deal with this type of plastic is to have the tanks treated with fluoride this seals the tank and make it imperviouse to the fuel...

Basicaly its exactly the same procedure as for the earlier bikes...

You may get a repair that lasts a while, but the petrol vapor gets into the plastic and any welding eventualy...
