Yup.I have a AGM battery in my shop right now...

Yup.I have a AGM battery in my shop right now that's polarity is reversed to what it is marked as. Holds charge very well too.

The hessitation could come from a number of things. Gummed up carbs, intake leaks, out of tolerance valves, etc.
