I had let mine get too hot once and bubbles developed. Now I put a fan in front of the bike when I have to run it when working on it.

I have the BWM cans that came with my 04 GS adventure. Today one of the hinges gave way and the top of the can fell off:huh

Some of the same issues when cold this morning (the bike not the air). Once the bike was warmed up the erratic idle went away as did the tendency to want to stall when coming to a stop. Much better...

I removed the canister today and it seems to have solved the problem! At least at this point. No stalling no moving idle and more power:lol3

some folks on here recommend the autolight plugs...

some folks on here recommend the autolight plugs as a fix for surging. In my case it has made no difference. I have a few sets of new OEM plugs. I can put them in and see what that does.

I did take the slack out of the cable before...

I did take the slack out of the cable before doing the sync, and interestingly enough that is when the really stalling, sputtering started.

I will put some slack in and then re-adjust the cables...

Hardly ever wash it, do ride in the rain when I have to, it is in the garage when not riding.

I have thought of the canister as the first owner said there was surge from new. He never had problems...

I did replace the bottom plugs as well with OEM plugs. Did not check the sensor; I will.

I thought the coils would have done it too; but I am not that lucky...

I have an 04 GSA and I love it. I got it used with 34K on it. It surges a bit but I think as I get better with valve adjustments that will go away. :D
