At some point you just have to put the bike away till spring. Bad enough if you dump all alone and bust up a bike, but if you crash and the car or garbage truck behind you can't stop either..........

Not a certain fix, but my last set of new tires took well over 500 miles on them before they felt confident. They actually have now pretty well broke in, but I bet it was close to the 1,000 mile mark...
