My '09 KLX250S with 7,000 miles did not have noisy valves but when I did a clearance check I found the right intake cam lobe was losing metal on the top of the lobe and it was eating up the cam...

I can see in your pic I was wrong, I can now see the sides of the brush holders are cut away on the spring side to allow for no fouling of the spring as the brushes wear. Sorry for any concern. L D
