It could be these are SW Motech racks-- I'm not that familiar with them. I did mount Givi E21s with adapters to them for a while before I went back to the metal Suzuki boxes.

To answer my own question: I finally got around...

To answer my own question: I finally got around to replacing the brake light switch on the master cylinder to the front brake. It fixed the problem.
