Yes, the first edition was called "Revere" , but in 1992 introducing a changed model it's called NTV.

The changes were minor; exhaust/colors/buddyseat/a chrome bar instead of a 2 piece cast iron...

I don't think it has been imported in the USA; the Honda NTV 650, beiing made from 1988 up to 1997.
It's basically a Honda Hawk without the chain(shaft), and was intended to be a Japanese BMW and...

I think you should practice now and then, so you' ll know the feeling of braking hard.
When your reartire is almost worn and should be replaced you should use the last bit of rubber to break hard...
