Not in my experience. I have 7 friends withi 690's, only the two with 14's have stock map...or stock can. The 5 with 13's or older put on a new exhaust, load a map, never touch it again.

Can't say I'm headed over the passes any time soon that I know of, but I'm sure there are plenty of riders locally that would pick it up and store it until you could get it, myself included.

xcw, only in states that allow plating dirtbikes, which California is not one of.

I ran the wheel so close it rubbed the mud flap with my trials tire. Handled lousy. Went with longer chain, 15/48 and moved the wheel back, MUCH better.

Comparing 14 models, the 250 is 11 lbs lighter than a 690 enduro. I personally wouldn't call any 250 that is listed at 295lbs 'light', especially considering something like a 350exc is almost 55lbs...
