Perry

Riding a Perry now is like riding on sticky greased glass that will ball up between your wheels and fenders -- unless you really fly out there.

De-Noobing?

Sending the dough. De-noobing is juvenile. Like high school which I would like to forget. Riding on the other hand is fabulous. I'd like to concentrate on that with wild tales and camaraderie...

AntiHero,

Thanks! I just received the latest Cycle World yesterday. They reviewed the Scrambler Vs. the Triumph scrambler. The noted their overall mileage at 43 which corresponds to your...

More Details

AntiHero,

You've superbly addressed questions no other published report commented on but as a rider who has to live with his bike choices seem to me to be really important. Long distance comfort....

XC Vs. XC-W

The XC has the linkage suspension which is far, far better for serious whoops and G-outs. I geared up slightly so the ratios are a bit more spread out. On my last 300 XC-W I think I managed to get...

Trails

I remember those trails as well. We ended up at the Lilly Pond. I crashed several times. Had a street legal 300 then, an XC-W and now a 300 XC (close ratio) so roads are not really good choices...

Delta 21,

Thanks for the reply. It looks like a good time. I made WF'09 so this one should be epic.

Off Road West Fest

I would like to come but my only bike is a KTM 300 XC licensed in KS. Will there be off road events for me? It eats a lot of premix on the road....

Mid May?

Having shoulder surgery 4/7 so will be out of action for at least 6~8 weeks (depending on when I decide to cheat). I have a "dual sport" KTM 300 XC race bike that should be great in the Gyp Hills. ...

Puke Checking Nuts & Bolts

My dealers rarely make mistakes. Nevertheless I do most of my work myself. Once, some years ago I did not properly tighten the front axle nut on my Maico 250. The axle was hanging half way out by...

I didn't know rocks and logs needed protection. I picked up a neat bumper sticker the last time I was in Moab: "God forgives. Rocks Don't."

Comfort

Marty,

Your input on the F700 GS and the Scrambler are very much appreciated. They match my feelings about the two as well. However, on comfort, I am in a different category. I grew up on...

Thanks for the response. I noticed that BMW has had reliability problems since the auto division took over the motorcycle division in 2002. That may be history now but it is discouraging. ...

John,

The run may well be sold out in the US as well. It depends on how much production can be maintained in Thailand. The reviews all say the same thing: you are crazy if you do not get one.
