KLR What badness comes from running it HOT.

My KLR has just started running hot. Am I endangering the welfare of a moto by running it just below the red arc? If so, what complications can come up.

Post found on KLR NET re overheating KLR

* Flushed cooling sytem and changed coolant. Slightly dililuted mixture to 60/40 and added Water Wetter.

* Checked water pump impeller nut.

* Checked spark plug and it indicated slightly...

Pissed It got damn hot...

Question... what are all the reasons known to man that a KLR 650 would run hot??? I have one that is definately not a guage problem.
