Sounds like one of the problems was not having the HID's switched off when the motorcycle is turned on & started. Voltage drop to the ballasts while they are firing up the bulb will cause problems.

KTM is really good about marking the VINs on their frames & certificate of origin- they don't mark them until the bike is allotted to their market, whereas the Japanese just mark thousands of frames...

The fronts are pretty narrow from inside diameter to outside, so the ball bearings themselves are quite small- think skateboard-sized. It's crazy how much weight & force these things have to handle...
