Got mine to fire yesterday. First time in who knows how long?
Crankcase is relatively free of sludgy gunk so the oil was changed
out, the carb cleaned and the points dressed....

The word I get from Kaj Pederson is that 1939 was the first
FACTORY supplied foot shift. Probably an easy retrofit for the
earlier hand shift bikes since they are such simple machines.

a bunch). The rubber gets spongey. Best to replace it. The bike will have
