Pelons

Hi all -- I'm usually a lurker, but if I wasn't heading to Richmond for the 10k run I'd meet up with you to do some in-person introductions, particularly since I'm a huge Pelons fan. I was in last...

Another vote for the Strom

Firebrick, I just picked up a '12 v-strom 650 and couldn't be happier - it's my second one. After having an r1150r, FJR1300, Nighthawk 750, KLR 650, earlier strom and VFR, I came back to the strom...

Count me in...

Count me in, too - just replaced the VFR with a v-strom. Not as off road as the KLR a few years ago, but welcome suggestions, too.

Thanks, Tom

Deedsly, I bought the '95 mentioned above...

Deedsly,

I bought the '95 mentioned above for $2,800 with lots of extras in Va Beach. It was above KBB, but the extras were significant. It may be a bit on the high side, but if you like it, who...

I'll jump in on this one, after picking up a '95...

I'll jump in on this one, after picking up a '95 VFR750 a month ago. I got it home and was thinking "Man this thing is a beast at slow speed turns." Checked the air pressure -- way low. Put the...

Wee Strom

I bought one and soon sold my KLR650 and FJR 1300 and didn't regret it a bit. The FJR was great for fast riding and supersport touring, but I found the Wee is just as capable, just not as fast.

Not my favorite, but one with my Hammock

Here's one of my KLR and Hammock, camping at the Shenandoah 500 rally last fall. Yes, that's duct tape holding the side panel on the bike. The "A" section was more than the combination of my skills...

PVC Pipe on Vstrom?

SanDiegoLand,

Care to share the details on the PVC storage it looks like you have on the left side of the bike? Closer photos and mounting details, perhaps?

Thanks, Tom

KLR, FJR and Weestrom

I'll throw in my .02 worth... I just sold my FJR1300 and KLR and picked up a used Weestrom (05). I had the KLR and Weestrom together for several weeks and frankly didn't take the KLR out of the...

Bikes in rooms

Heh,

I lived in Heber City, UT for several years when I worked for the local paper. Was that the Aloma Motel or High Mountain Inn? LOL.

Nice area, I miss it.

Used GS

You suck! I actually talked to Rick about the two used GS's he was getting in on Friday and mentioned I was thinking of getting rid of my FJR and going for a 1200GS. I'm selling my KLR, for sure.

Goodbye, Rick

Rick was a friend I've known for several years as a riding budy, as a customer of Adventure BMW (he was the service manager) and as a vendor. He was on his way to the California Superbike school at...

Who went down....

I had a no-speed tipover on the first hero section on day 1 -- the really challenging steep downhill part -- but that was it. I didn't hear about the other KLR mishap, although I saw a few non klrs...

Shenadoah 500

I'll be there -- heading out Friday from the Virginia Beach area on my KLR650 and looking forward to a great weekend. Rode the Rocky Run area a few weekends ago, along with part of Tasker's Gap. ...
