990 clutch drag

The oil jet is clear. I have checked that myself. The oil level is ok.....I just changed it and did the fill as per manual.

Any other suggestions?

990 Baja clutch drag

My 2013 990 developed a sticky dragging clutch at around 5000K. The dealer replaced the plates and it worked fine for a while but is doing it again. Dealer claims no one else is having this issue.
I...

Mefo / Dunlop

I have tried every possible combination of tires. TKS are pure crap. No good in dirt and no god on highway and were finished at 3000 kms.
The best combo I have found is a Dunlop 908 on the front...

The new Baja comes with a really nice waterproof bag. It could probably be ordered by a dealer. Maybe someone will part with one?

Wobble.

I have had both the 950 and a 990. This is a tire issue. These bike will wobble as soon as the tire wears a bit. It is typical. The only fix is a steering damper unless you plan on tire changes...

Tires

If you are mostly on the highway the shinko 705 is a good tire. If you are more off road the Mefo or Henius (spelling?) are a good choice. The Mefo and Shinko both wear well. The shinko is the...

Side stand

The side stand issue is an easy fix. I simply cut about 1 1/2 inches out of the lower portion and welded a threaded rod on the bottom portion and a nut on the upper portion. Then threaded a locking...

Wings all the way! I have the NOS with carbon fiber ends. Hy sound great but are not so load that they wear on you on a long trip. Even my Harley Ferguson friends comment on how good they sound.

I owned an 950 and now a 990. I put thousands of miles on my 950 and the only major failure I ever had was the clutch slave cylinder. I have never tried an aftermarket unit. They are supposed to be...

Gearing

The stock gearing on the 990 adv is 17/42. Most off readers switch to a 16/42 combo. This seems to work well and is stock on the limited edition 2013 baja model.However......swapping the primary over...

The stock exhaust can be modified easily by cutting and removing the catalitic baffle.....then reweld. This opens the beast up and with proper jetting will run like a top!
